Happy New Year! Please go to our Photos section to catch up on who has been visiting whom. Newest is the Couches dropping in on the Bests in AZ. The Bests are really hospitable.
Chris Gibbs has sent in a memory from Hixson Jr. High, with an interesting twist ("Remember?"). Three of our alumni got together in Bozeman, MT--check out the photo ("Photos").
The WGHS Statesmen Sports Hall of Fame dinner was very interesting. Rather than give TY speeches, each of the nominees was "interviewed" and we learned fascinating things about their lives and sports experiences, during and after WGHS. Unfortunately Rick Cash could not appear because he was recovering from a heart procedure. The emcee interviewed Bill Southworth as Rick's stand-in.
Congratulations to Rick Cash who was elected to the WGHS Statesmen Sports Hall of Fame. He will be inducted Sat., Oct. 25 at a dinner at Westborough Country Club. Want to cheer him on? Tickets are $50 each. Contact the WGHS Activity Office at 314-918-4176. Who knew that John Breier received four commendations in his military service? Distinguished Flying Cross, Silver Star, Bronze Star and Purple Heart. See the new Wall of Remembrance honoring veterans at WGHS.
