Alumni Fuzzball Game

Talis Bergmanis, Cliff Best, Bob Couch, Jim Kern, Dan McMichael, Don Polley, Dan Richter, Hugh Taylor, Leigh Turner, Rich Wassall, Chip Weisenfels, John Withers, and Craig Wrisberg competed in a fun few hours at Larson Park reliving their childhood. Thanks to Rich Wassall for organizing the event and to Larry Mitchener and Pete Vesey for taking abuse as the umpires. Thanks to those who patiently cheered.

Boosting testosterone before the big game: Chip Weisenfels, Hugh Taylor, Cliff Best, & Tom Brown.

Wassall winds up for a mighty pitch while "where's my white cane" ump, Mitchener, peers intently through his dark shades.

Murderers' Row: Polley, Wrisberg and Bergmanis survey the competition.

"Give me a break, guys. I call 'em like I see 'em." (Mitchener & McMichael)

Withers, is that concentration or disgust?

Leigh Turner is out for blood.

Hugh Taylor commiserates with Dave Schroeder on having to sit out the fuzzball game with his new hip. It has been 50 years, ya know.
Picture
The Big Signing: all players (due to age & physical condition) had to sign a release before playing. Here Withers signs while Kern & Wassall look on.

He swings, he misses. Does Weisenfels (the eye doc) need new glasses?
Picture
Oh, dear. The cheering squad can't believe what they're seeing.

Best buffed up for this game (note the hairy visor).

"Hey, beer man, I'll take another cold one." (Polley)

Smitty Reed and wife, Ginny Burch '66, and Bob & Judy Hale were boosters.

"Back at ya, Turner!" says Jim Kern.
